Best Times To Bowhunt

**AXIS** You can chase them year-round because Axis grow their bones in conjunction with when they're born; so we will always have Bucks that are hard-horned. That said, they also breed year-round, but it is magical to hunt them during the summer months. You will be blown away if you chase them from mid-May through early Aug--they Rut the heaviest during this time. Of course you can take a big Bruiser anytime throughout the year.......but if you're serious about killing a Monster Axis you need to sweat a bit Mid-May thru early Aug!!!!!

**AOUDAD** You can chase them year-round because they're a horned critter that never sheds its headgear. They have awesome short coats during the summer and move well in the heat--they never shed their trademark beard & chaps, so I can put you on them during any time period. They will breed throughout the year, but most of the females come into estrus mid-late summer. I recommend chasing them along with Axis & Blackbuck during the summer months; I seem to be able to pattern them better then.

**BLACKBUCK** You can chase them year-round because they're a horned Antelope that never sheds its bones. Mature Bucks literally never stop breeding throughout the year as long as there are willing Does--the phrase should actually read "Breeds like Blk Bucks" instead of Bunnies!!!!!! We have huge herds of Black Bucks that I can get you on anytime that you can make a trip to Paradise. I recommend hunting them anytime you can head this way; but during the summer months they come to water and are a bit easier to pattern--they move well during the heat of the day (hunt them in conjunction with Axis & Aoudad).

**FALLOW** You can chase them from late July through early March. Out of all of the Exotics that we have, Fallow are the easiest to kill a big one--during their Rut they don't have a lick of common sense. If you want to have the best chance at a Bruiser I recommend that you come the earlier the better--they are by far and away the most vulnerable when they first come out of velvet and are rutting in late July early August. They shed their antlers around the 3rd week in March each year.

**HOG** You can kill Hogs here anytime of the year--they are always a hoot to chase. If you're looking for an absolute Testosterone-Blow (Estrogen-Blow for the Girls) you need to chase these TANKs on a full-moon lit night--this is by far and away one of the most exhilarating hunts you will ever do.......Scary but in a good way--come chase the Poormans Grizz....I dare Ya!!

**SCIMITAR-HORNED ORYX** You can chase the Bulls year-round because they never lose their horns. The Cows, which have the longest horns, calf in the early spring--if they are to be hunted, I would have to sit with you to ensure that she would be dry or barren. No matter when you come I am pretty confident I can put you on a monster.

**RED STAG** If you want to chase them during the "Roar", you need to be in Paradise late July-Sept......they will still Roar in October, but late July-Sept is absolutely amazing. Having a Huge Stag come in to a call is a sight you will never forget--like Elk-hunting on Steroids!!

**SIKA** You can chase them from late July through early March. These Buggars are far and away the most aggressive of all the exotics that we have here in Paradise; during the peak of their rut in late July-Aug they are the easiest to call in.....VERY fun to call to--they come in on a string.

**TURKEY** The spring opener is always a huge success....everyone usually gets at least a shot at a big Tom during this time period. During the first 2 weeks the Toms are really worked up and come in on a string--the middle of the season is slower as far as calling goes; but they still come in--the last part of the season heats back up as the Hens start to sit their nests. The fall season runs concurrent with the Wt Season and you are allowed to shoot Hens during this time period. If you're looking to have a great spring hunt and would like to take an awesome Rio, you need to head to Paradise for some of the best Turkey hunting around.

**WHITETAIL** You can chase them from Oct-Jan with very good results, but here is a break-down of what you can expect during each time period. Hunting South Texas for Whitetails is an unbelievable experience that will impress even the most seasoned Wt Hunter....nothing will have prepared you for the sheer numbers of deer that you will see every day--you will be amazed!!!

"NEW" Wt Doe & Spike Hunt: There is no bad time to chase Wt Does & Spikes here in Paradise....This is about as close as I can come to offering a guaranteed Bowhunt--you will be covered up with them....about the only way that you would go away without a Critter would be if you just didn't bring enough arrows. This hunt runs from Oct-Jan and you will come in at noon and leave at noon 2 days later. I can't tell you the countless requests that I have gotten for this to be offered--well here ya go, have fun!!

Early Season Oct-Early November: The Bucks are still in their normal feeding patterns--you will see mostly Bucks 3 1/2 years olds and younger......we do see older Bucks but it's only their stomachs that bring them out and it's harder to pattern the older bucks at this time. Expect to see lots of bucks under the 130 class. We don't usually shoot Does until mid-Nov because they still have spotted Fawns; if you're positive that they're either dry or have no Fawns you can shoot them. We of course allow all Spikes & Cull Bucks to be shot at this time.

Pre-Rut Early Nov-Early Dec: You will see tons of Bucks that are vamping up for the Rut--they're starting to cruise but the Rut is a couple of weeks off. The older Bucks are starting to show themselves and rattling and scents work really well. Expect to see lots of Bucks with the older Bucks (over 130's) starting to show themselves. We allow Does, Spikes, and Cull Bucks to be shot during this time period.

Full on Rut Early Dec-Jan: This is a magical time for the Whitetail hunter.....the sheer numbers of critters you will see will blow your mind. The only down side to coming during the rut is that the Bucks never stand still and attempts to pattern them is virtually impossible--during this time we just pattern the Does which will most definitely produce the Big Bucks. Expect to see an insane amount of Wts; this is when you will see the Huge Bucks daily and your opportunity to arrow one will be the highest. We allow Does, Spikes, and Cull Bucks to be shot during this time period.

If you still have questions; please feel free to give me a holler!!!!
